Sakura-bashi Bridge goes from Imado in Taito Ward to Mukojima in Sumida Ward and is the only pedestrian bridge that connects both sides of Sumida Park along Sumida River. In 1985, Taito Ward and Sumida Ward built Sakura-bashi in a joint project. It was the first pedestrian bridge across Sumida River. “Sakura” means cherry blossoms and in spring you can take a walk under the cherry trees in Sumida Park between Azuma-bashi and Sakura-bashi.
