It has been about a month since cherry blossom season and things are warming up. With such nice weather, I'd like to introduce you to Ueno Zoo's new twin panda mascots!

Ueno Zoo is located within Ueno Park. While located in the heart of Tokyo, there is an urban zoo in which visitors can enjoy nature, scenery, and animals. It currently houses about 300 different types of animals with 3000 animals total.

Five pandas live at Ueno Zoo, including a pair of twins named Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei, born last year. The names of each twin panda have special meaning, with the male Xiao Xiao indicating "the light of dawn that brightens the sky," and the female Lei Lei meaning "a bud that blooms into a beautiful flower that leads to a brighter future."

In order to see the twin pandas, visitors must win a lottery for viewing tickets in addition to purchasing a standard entry ticket to the zoo in advance. These tickets can be acquired from the link at the bottom of this article.

The next time you visit Ueno Park, why not enjoy the perfect weather by visiting the adorable pandas taking a walk at Ueno Zoo?
