Setsubun - Bean-throwing Festival

Setsubun - Bean-throwing Festivalの写真1

Since the Muromachi period (1333-1573), Setsubun marks the end of winter and the coming of spring. Misfortune and disaster is driven away by tossing beans and chanting “In with good fortune, out with oni demons!” Many shrines and temples invite celebrities to participate in the event.
