Sakura in Ueno Park

Ueno Hill has been a famous sakura cherry blossom spot since the Edo period (1603-1868). There are over 1200 sakura trees in Ueno Park, including Somei Yoshino, Satozakura, and Yamazakura varieties. Take a walk during the day or try “yozakura”, seeing the cherry blossoms at night. About 2 million people come here for “hanami” parties (cherry blossom viewing). This is still one of the most famous sakura spots in Tokyo.
