In front of an image of Shoshin, a disciple of Shinran and the founder of Hoon-ji Temple, two carps are put on a chopping board. A master of the Shijo School of Japanese cuisine wearing a traditional hat and ceremonial robe prepares the fish without touching it, using a kitchen knife and chopsticks.
